Where's the copyright date?

A patron was working on a bibliography for a health class.  She didn't have to read all of the books on the list, but she needed to find current books.  One of the books she wanted to include an e-book that she found on Amazon.com.  To find the copyright date, we looked on the hardcover of the title copyright.  In this case, the copyright was simply called the publication date.  Same thing, different place.

  1. I get frustrated when date of publication, particularly on-line is not visible. It's critical information. But is an e-book copyright really the same as a hardcover?
