Numbers to Have at the Reference Desk
Today I had a patron who called from one of our outlying businesses. They had become sick and needed a ride home. I looked for Taxi services and finally connected them with the bus service to get them home.
Know the numbers for:
1. Bus services
2. Cab companies
3. Local Paratransit
You never know when you will need it.
P.S. Check the names and numbers of the cab companies often because they open and close without notice.
I remember the secretary at our church said that during a blizzard the church got a call asking for someone to come and shovel her drive-way. When told that wasn't a service we provided, she said, "But I thought churches helped people." Maybe your caller was suggesting you send an employee?
